Meet the gardener

Kia ora I am Sophie. As most people do, I first fell in love with gardening after buying my own home and after a few years of mahi, I have completed many personal landscaping projects using holistic, natural and renewable gardening techniques. I enjoyed the idea of returning to basics, using what you have and extending knowledge and gifts of nature to others.

Before starting Roots & Bloom I had worked many years in the community training and supporting people.

 

I especially love growing food, making fertiliser, utilising compost bins and sourcing local mulch, and coffee grinds for garden use! My children have enriched my love for the garden, seeing the wonder and amazement through their eyes has been such a treasure. The bliss of having my little oasis in my backyard sparked my transition to helping others enjoy the same.
